ABOUT

SL Insulation is a Melbourne insulation contractor. We supply and install insulation across Greater Melbourne for new builds, renovations, extensions, commercial projects and existing homes — and we sell insulation supply-only to builders, trades and DIY renovators who want to install it themselves.

Steven Lin founded the business in July 2013 and remains Managing Director. The company operates out of a warehouse and office at 30 Bignell Rd, Moorabbin, VIC 3189, which is where our stock, logistics and estimating team sit. Everything we quote is dispatched from there, and clients are welcome to visit and talk through a job in person.

Today the business runs with around 20 people across estimating, on-site operations, warehouse and logistics, accounts and administration. That matters more than it sounds. Insulation is a trade where the difference between a good job and a bad one is whether someone actually measured the frame properly, ordered the right R-value, got the material to site on the right day, and fitted the batts without compressing them or leaving gaps. Those are four different people’s jobs, and we staff all four.

THE SL PROMISE

Quality, Safety, Transparency & Accountability

At SL Insulation, we’re here to guide you throguh our seamless process from quote to finished job, as we aim to take the hassle out of insulating your property. We work to the scale of your job, whether it’s a trade site, supply only, or DIY project, providing you with the best solution tailored to your insulating needs.

Our team of experiences professional installers operate with the highest quality insulation materials, tools and resources to ensure every job is finished to an unrivalled standard.

  • We quote what the job actually needs: Insulation is easy to under-spec to win a price, and the customer only finds out two winters later. We’d rather explain why a higher R-value is worth it than quietly install less.
  • We check the install, not just the delivery: Gaps and compression are the two failure modes that matter, and both are invisible once the plaster goes on.
  • We work in people’s homes: On occupied properties, that means being respectful of the space, cleaning up, and doing what we said we’d do.
  • We tell you what we can’t do: If a subfloor is too tight to work in
safely, or the existing material needs removing first, you’ll hear that at quote stage rather than on the day.
